A Jackson State University bus caught fire on May 5. No injuries have been reported.
The bus was transporting the JSU baseball team to a game at Savannah State University scheduled for May 6. The team will return to Jackson May 5. The game has been cancelled.
JSU officials are in the process of notifying the parents of all of the student-athletes who were on the bus.
“We are relieved that everyone is safe. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers,” said JSU President Carolyn W. Meyers. “The university will conduct its own exhaustive investigation into this unfortunate incident.”
