Bryce Taylor got hit by a pitch to get on base and scored on a Charles Tillery sacrifice fly to cut TXSO’s lead to 3-1. JSU took the lead for good, scoring three in the sixth inning. Gabriel Babineaux, Ethan Bright and Tillery all scored to give JSU a 4-3 advantage.

JSU added three insurance runs in the eighth inning when Aneko Knowles, Bright and Jose Cruz all scored. Texas Southern rallied in the eighth but could only muster one run.
