Lady Tigers to host Arkansas in midweek doubleheader

JACKSON, Miss. — The Jackson State University softball team returns home to host the University of Arkansas in a midweek doubleheader Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the JSU Softball Complex.

After winning seven straight, the Lady Tigers have improved to 12-22 overall on the season and will look to continue its streak.

Jackson State went 53-for-126, averaging .421 at the plate, scoring a combined 56 runs, 52 RBI, seven home runs, and six doubles over this past weekend.

Senior Lauren Aikens leads the Lady Tigers offensive attack with a .358 batting average; which includes 34 hits, 25 RBI, 13 runs scored, 10 doubles and a homerun.

The Razorbacks (22-10) are coming off a Southeastern Conference series loss (1-2) to the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss.

Clarisa Navarro leads UA with a .364 batting average. She has 32 hits, 28 RBI, 25 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple, and a homerun so far on the season.
