JACKSON, Miss. — The Jackson State baseball team fell 6-4 to the Nicholls State Colonels Saturday, March 1, at Braddy Field. With the loss, JSU falls to a 6-4 record and Nicholls improves to 5-6.
The Tigers trailed for the entire game, falling behind 1-0 in the second inning. Nicholls extended its lead with a three-run fourth inning. A highlight in the game for JSU happened in the seventh inning when Jose Cruz hit a two-run home run.
Chris Wingard suffered the loss.
Each team finished with six hits. The difference in the game was five errors committed by the Tigers.
JSU and Nicholls will square off Sunday, March 2, at 1 p.m. in the final game of the series.
