Jackson, MS- The Jackson State University women’s bowling team traveled to Gulfport, Miss on Feb. 21. and competed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference East Round up.
The Lady Tigers were able to take home a fourth place finish, out-bowling conference foes Alabama A&M, Southern, and Grambling State.
Lady Tigers Dyanna Scott and Alonna Tipton ranked fourth and fifth in individual game highs, Laura Uzzell and Brianna Reid were second and third in the top ranked freshman category, and Dyanna Scott ranked second in the individual high average category.
“We made great strides and improvements,” said head coach Michael Boykins. “(I’m) proud of our development and we’ll be ready for the SWAC championships in Arlington.”
The Lady Tigers’ bowing team will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Kansas City, Mo. to participate in the CMU NCAA Invitational on Feb. 28th.
