ARLINGTON, Texas – The Jackson State bowling team finished .500 on the second day of the Prairie View A&M Invitational which was hosted at the Bowling International Training and Research Center.
In Saturday’s action, JSU finished with a 3-2 record. The Lady Tigers finished Saturday with a 5-5 overall record for the tournament. In the opening game of the day, JSU defeated Valparaiso (No. 12 in the nation) 915-910.
“Defeating a nationally ranked opponent like Valparaiso was great way for us to demonstrate our team unity,” said head coach Michael Boykins.
JSU’s midday match was against a conference opponent, Texas Southern and the Lady Tigers claimed another win (808-799). JSU closed the day with another big win, beating No. 5 Stephen F. Austin 930-923. The final day of competition is set for Sunday, Feb. 2.
