Men’s Basketball Falls 72-61 to LA Tech

JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson State men’s basketball team fell 72-61 to the LA Tech Bulldogs Sunday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.

BJ West recorded his fourth double-double on the season, as he scored 12 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Julysses Nobles was the only other Tiger to score in double-digits as he finished with 17 points on 5-14 shooting from the field. He also went 6-7 from the free throw line.

Three Bulldogs scored in double-figures. Alex Hamilton led all scorers with 24 points on 8-12 shooting. Kenyon McNeail scored 12 and Raheem Appleby added 11 for LA Tech (6-1).

JSU trailed 36-29 at halftime. JSU shot 29.6% from the field and LA Tech shot 53.8% from the floor. JSU shot 44% from the field in the second half, as did LA Tech. LA Tech scored 32 points in the paint and had 27 bench points. JSU scored 26 points in the paint and had 15 bench points. In the first half, the score was tied four times and the game saw four lead changes.

JSU (2-6) returns to action on Dec. 7 when the Tigers travel to New Orleans, La. to face Tulane.
