Volleyball Hosts La.-Lafayette in Home Opener

After capturing their first win on the season over the University of Louisiana-Monroe 3-2, the Jackson State University volleyball team looks to establish a winning streak Tuesday, September 10, when they host the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in the T.B. Ellis Gymnasium of the campus of JSU in their home opener.

Match play is set for 7 p.m. and we are inviting Lady Tiger volleyball fans of all ages  to come out and enjoy our electric game-day atmosphere as we “Bring the Heat” during our JSU “Bluau” game.

JSU (1-6) completed the Central Arkansas Sugar Bear Classic going 1-3 on the weekend. Sophomore middle blocker Mikayla Rolle led the attack for the Lady Tigers by recording 36 kills, 12 block assists, five solo blocks, and four digs,; while adding an assist.  She was also named to the Central Ark. Sugar Bear All-Tournament team.

As a team, Jackson State has tallied 203 kills and 188 assists offensively. Defensively, the team has registered 284 digs, 79 block assists, and 12 solo blocks.

The Rajin’ Cajuns (5-2) are led by Sara Mossakowski, offensively. Mossakowski is seventh in the Sun Belt Conference, in kills per set (3.15).
