Volleyball Drops Two During the Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Jackson State University volleyball team fell to Stephen F. Austin 3-0 (5-25, 11-25, 16-25) and Troy 3-0 (13-25, 18-25, 18-25) on Saturday afternoon during the Southern Mississippi Invitational.

Paige Williams led the attack against SFA in the first match of day for the Lady Tigers with four solo blocks, three kills, and a block assist. JSU’s setter Jenna Siddiqui added 14 assists in the contest.

Jacque Allen led the way for the Lumberjacks recording ten kills and two block assists.

In the second match of the day against Troy, Williams led the attack with six block assists, four kills, and a dig for JSU. Siddiqui registered 21 assists in the match.

Marija Zelenovic led Troy with 16 kills, a dig, and a block assist; while Alexandra Alexander added 33 assists and six digs.

Jackson State will next compete in the Central Arkansas Sugar Bear Classic in Conway, Ark. Sept. 6 against Louisiana-Monroe at 10 a.m. and the host team Central Arkansas at 2 p.m.
