Volleyball Falls In Season Opener To Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Jackson State University volleyball team fell (12-25, 17-25, 17-25) to the University of Southern Mississippi in its season opener Friday evening during the USM Invitational.

JSU’s middle blocker Paige Williams led the attack for the Lady Tigers recording 10 kills, and two digs; while registering three block assists. Setter Jenna Siddiqui added 21 assists; while middle blocker Mikayla Rolle registered six kills and a block assist.

Quinci Hayward recorded 13 kills, two digs, and added a solo block to the Golden Eagles. Kristen Fleming added 35 assists in the contest for USM.

The Lady Tigers will play Troy at 10 a.m. and face Stephen F. Austin at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 31 in the Southern Mississippi Invitational.
