JACKSON – The Jackson State baseball team finished the regular season in fine fashion on Mother’s Day as the Tigers beat the Florida A&M Rattlers 6-1 to complete the weekend sweep at Braddy Field.
JSU scored its six runs on eight hits, while FAMU scored its one run on nine hits and had three errors.
Brandon Gregory (5-4) pitched the complete game for the win. In nine innings of work he recorded a game high seven strikeouts.
Stephen Curtis went 2-5 at the plate with a RBI. Six other Tigers recorded a hit including Ethan Bright who hit a two run homer in the fifth inning to give JSU a 6-1 lead.
FAMU scored its only run in the first inning. JSU scored four runs to take a 4-1 advantage.
