The Jackson State men’s and women’s golf teams are set to make another run at the 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference Golf title this week starting Monday, April 22 until April 24 in Alexandria, La.

The women will play 36 holes at the Links on the Bayou and the men will compete at the 54-hone Oak Wing Golf Club.

The men’s team looks to get back on track after Alabama State denied the Tigers their sixth straight conference crown. However, Clay Meyers finished as the league’s individual medalist.

The Lady Tiers ran away with the title last season, winning by 37 shots over their nearest competitor. JSU placed four players in the top eight individuals and shot a winning total of 659 (336, 323). Stephanie Robertson and Erica Payton were named All-SWAC first team selections.

Eddie Payton was named the SWAC women’s coach of the year in 2012.
