NEW ORLEANS – The Jackson State men and women track and field teams had good performances on the second day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Carson Smith won the 110 meter hurdles – decathlon. Bentrell McGee finished third in the 110 meter hurdles prelims. Briana Brown finished third in the women’s 100 meter hurdles. Jeremy Wilson, Jamie McIntosh and Tamarick Johnson all advanced to the finals in the 400 meter dash.

Akila Craig finished third in the prelims of the 100 meter dash. Anaso Jobodwana took his first step to securing another SWAC title as he finished first in the 100 meter dash prelims. He also won the 200 meter dash in the preliminaries. BJ Lee also advanced to the finals in the 100 meters. Krissle Nicome advanced to the finals in the 800 meter run.

Evan Thomas finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles prelims. Ibrahim Hinds finished ninth and qualified for the finals round of the 400 meter hurdles.
