SHREVEPORT, La. – The Jackson State softball team recorded 15 hits en route to a 15-0 victory over Centenary in non-conference action Thursday evening at the Centenary SB Complex.
With the win JSU improved to an 11-20 record while Centenary falls to 1-19.
Two Lady Tigers recorded three hits. Sabeana Romero had three hits, three runs and two RBI and Canessa Swanson finished with three hits, two runs and two RBI. Lauren Aikens had two hits and three runs. Cadie Hancock had a hit for Centenary.
Jasmine Warren (2-5) pitched four innings to pick up the win. She allowed only three hits and had three strikeouts. Lynsi Unruh (1-11) suffered the loss. In 1.2 innings she gave up 11 runs on nine hits.
JSU jumped out to an early lead, scoring 12 runs in the first two innings. JSU scored its final three runs of the game in the third.
JSU returns to action Friday, March 22 when the Lady Tigers take on Southern on the opening day of the SWAC Roundup in Longview, Texas. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
