Softball falls in extra innings to UTEP

JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers dropped to a 10-19 overall record after falling 11-7 to UTEP on the final day of the JSU Softball Tournament at the JSU SB Complex.

Breea Jamerson pitched six innings and gave up seven runs on seven hits to suffer the loss. Danielle Pearson picked up the win for UTEP, going seven innings and allowing three runs on four hits.

Jasmine Warren went 1-3 at the plate with two runs and Tayler Nave went 1-3 with a run and two RBI. Kayla Oranger went 2-4 with a run and two RBI for UTEP.

JSU held a 6-1 advantage after three innings. UTEP cut the lead to one with four runs in the fourth inning. UTEP tied the game (6-6) in the fifth with a run. UTEP put the game out of reach in the eighth with a five run inning.

JSU returns to action March 20 when the Lady Tigers travel to Natchitoches, LA to take on Northwestern State. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
