SB picks up a pair of wins Saturday

JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson State softball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday during the JSU Tournament at the JSU Softball Complex. The Lady Tigers faced UTEP and Cleveland State.

In the first game JSU defeated UTEP 3-2. Breea Jamerson picked up the win, going seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits. She also struck out seven batters. Canessa Swanson and Sabeana Romero each recorded two hits for the Lady Tigers. Swanson had two runs and Romero one.

In the second game, JSU picked up a 5-4 win over Cleveland State. Jamerson went three innings to pick up the win and Jasmine Warren got the save. Warren also led the JSU offense, going 3-3 at the plate with a run and RBI. Amanda Vasquez went 2-3 with a run.

The Lady Tigers return to action Sunday at 11 am to take on UTEP in the final game of the tournament.
