JACKSON, Miss. - Jackson State University ended the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular season with a 52-45 decision over Alabama A&M on Saturday at the Lee E. Williams AAC. The Lady Tigers had two reason to celebrate the win, as it was senior day and Tiffany Kellum became the 20th Lady Tiger to join the JSU womens basketball 1,000 point club. She currently has 1,010 points as a Lady Tiger.

JSU (12-15, 9-9) rallied in the second half after trailing 26-19 at halftime. Kellum, Beatrice Banks, and Ayanna Hardy-Fuller led JSU in scoring.

Kellum registered 14 points and seven rebounds to pace the Lady Tigers. Banks and Hardy-Fuller tacked on 10 points apiece. JSU hit 33 percent from the floor.

Taylor Shippial and Jasmine Sanders scored 13 apiece to lead AAMU (9-19, 8-10). Shippial also finished with five assists. Clarissa Moore and Shundray Davis tied a team high seven rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Tigers enter the 2013 SWAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed. JSU will play its first tournament game on Thursday, Mar. 14 when the Lady Tiers take on Prairie View A&M.
