Lady Tigers drop final two games in Mardi Gras Invitational

Game 4:  Ole Miss 10-Jackson State 2

Mobile, AL-Amanda Vasquez had a good day at the plate, however Jackson State did not seal a win against Ole Miss as they fell 10-2.

Vasquez had two hits and scored one run.  She doubled in the second and singled in the six inning. 

Hummel got the job done on the mound for Ole Miss and walked away with the win.  She allowed two runs over six innings as she struck out nine Lady Tigers. 

Jasmine Warren recorded the loss for Jackson State as she pitched four innings with nine hits and five earned runs.

Game 5:  Jackson State 2 --South Alabama 10

The Jackson State Softball team dropped their final game of the Mardi Gras Invitational as South Alabama defeated the Lady Tigers, 10-2.

Jackson State (3-8) was held to one hit, while South Alabama (8-1) manufactured nine.

Jasmine Warren produced the lone hit for the Lady Tigers; the Jaguars had seven players to finish with hits.

Jessica Dobson (2-0) picked up the win for South Alabama as she gave up one hit, two earned runs and striking out four in five innings of play. Jamerson received the loss for Jackson State, allowing eight hits, eight earned runs in four innings on the mound.

The Lady Tigers trailed 8-0 until Jasmine Warren's single to center field scored Arianna Smith and Tatyana Givens. 

For their efforts during the three day invitational, Breea Jamerson and Jasmine Warren were named to the Mardi Gras Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Jackson State will return to action on February 19th as they host Belhaven in a double header at the JSU Softball Complex.  First pitch is set for 3 pm.
