Tigers pick up win over Meridian CC

JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season by beating No. 16 nationally ranked Meridian Community College 6-1 at the JSU Tennis Complex. With the win JSU improves to a 1-4 record.

All matches were straight set victories expect for the match of the day with Marko Milosavljevic, who fought valiantly - and even had four match points, but came up short 6-4, 3-6, 10-12. In other singles action Jose Luque beat Joshua Marx 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 position. Carlos Martinez beat Ducky Troutman 6-0, 6-1, Hernan Reines beat Kevin Millet 6-1, 6-0, Camilo Patino beat Cody Gallenbeck 6-0, 6-2 and Ernesto Morales beat Harrison Warren 6-2, 6-0.

The Tigers swept doubles action with Martinez and Luque beating Marx and Millet 8-1. Morales and Patino  beat Troutman and Gallenbeck 8-2 and Reines and Milosavljevic defeated Wade and Warren 8-6.
