JACKSON, Miss. - Tiffany Kellum scored a career high 32 points to lead the Jackson State Lady Tigers to a 73-68 overtime victory over the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes Saturday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
With the win JSU improves to a 6-11, 3-5 record and MVSU falls to 7-12, 4-4.
Kellum went 15-20 from the field and pulled down 14 rebounds. She hit the game tying basket (63-63) to send the game into overtime. She scored four of JSU's 10 points in overtime. Ayanna Hardy-Fuller also recorded a double-double as she finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. She went 3-8 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line. Ekwara Ndongo and Dominique Brothern each chipped in eight points.
Three Devilettes score in double figures. Joncyee Sanders led MVSU with 17 points. Olivia Kennedy followed with 12 and Lenise Stallings scored 10 points.
The Lady Tigers out-rebounded MVSU 59-41. The game was tied 33-33 at halftime.
Jackson State will return to action Monday, Jan. 28 to host the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions at the Lee E. Williams AAC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
