JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State men's basketball team lost is second straight home game Tuesday night, falling 80-67 to the Southern Jaguars in Southwestern Athletic Conference action.
With the loss JSU falls to a 1-12 overall record and a 0-4 SWAC mark. SU improves to 10-6, 4-0.
Kelsey Howard led JSU's scoring effort with 20 points on 7-16 shooting from the field. He also recorded two steals. Dundrecous Nelson followed with 12 points on 4-14 shooting and Jeff Stubbs chipped in 11.
Four Jaguars scored in double figures, with Malcolm Miller leading the way with 28 points on 10-12 shooting from the field. Javan Mitchell scored 14 and Derick Beltran and Yondarius Johnson each contributed 12 points.
Jackson State will return to action Jan. 12 when the Tigers travel to Houston, TX to take on the Texas Southern Tigers in SWAC action.
