HOUSTON, Texas - The Jackson State women's basketball team lost its final game of the Houston Baptist Husky Classic Saturday afternoon, falling 72-48 to Navy at Sharp Gym.
11 Lady Tigers got into the scorebook, with Daria Hester coming off the bench to score a team high 10 points on 3-5 shooting. Mar'Chetta Parker followed with a nine point effort. Tiffany Kellum scored five points and pulled down six rebounds in 19 minutes of action.
Navy had three players score in double figures. Kara Pollinger scored a game high 24 points. Alix Membreno followed with 15 points and Jade Geif recorded a double-double as she finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers trailed the entire game and were behind 38-24 at halftime. Navy out-rebounded JSU 43-30 and held the Lady Tigers to 30.4% shooting from the field. Navy made 50% of its field goal attempts.
Tiffany Kellum was named to the HBU All-Tournament Team.
JSU will return to action Nov. 30 when the Lady Tigers take on Marshall in the EKU Tournament. Tip-off is set for 4:30 pm.
