Tigers return to action at Tulsa
The Jackson State men's basketball team returns to action following a 10 day layoff. JSU will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
The Tigers (0-1) come into the game coming off a 78-47 loss to Baylor. Newcomer Jeff Stubbs led the Tigers in scoring with 16 points and Willie Readus came off the bench to score 11 points and six rebounds.
The Golden Hurricane have a 3-1 record and is coming off a 2-1 weekend. Tulsa beat Northern Kentucky 76-56 and San Diego 63-51 before falling 92-76 to Cal State Northridge.
Tulsa is led in scoring by freshman James Woodard, who is averaging 15.5 points and four rebounds. Sophomore Rashad Smith averages 14.5 points and 4.8 rebounds.
Since coming to Jackson State, Anderson's squads have played Tulsa twice. In 2006 JSU lost 79-54 and the Tigers fell again 92-39 in 2009.
