JACKSON, Miss. — At the conclusion of day one of the Columbia 300 Music Classic on Friday, March 7, 2014, the Jackson State University women’s bowling team was in 17th place out of 29 schools.
The first day of competition consisted of six 4-game Baker matches. The Lady Tigers recorded three wins, defeating Sacred Heart, La. Tech and Howard but falling to UMES, Delaware St. and Prairie View.
Friday’s competition gave the Lady Tigers a leg up on several SWAC rivals in the tournament. JSU currently outranks Prairie View and Alabama A&M.
Music City Classic action will continue on Saturday, March 8, as the bowlers play six team games and on Sunday, March 9, when they play three best of seven Baker matches.
