NEW ORLEANS, La. - Despite a game high 23 points from Julysses Nobles the Jackson State men's basketball team fell 70-65 to the Tulane Green Wave Saturday afternoon.
Two other Tigers scored in double-figures. BJ West and Javeres Brent each scored 14 points. West just missed out on a double as he pulled down eight rebounds.
Jay Hook led New Orleans with 31 points.
Tulane led 38-35 at halftime. For the game JSU shot 40% from the field (20-50) and 79.2% from the line (19-24). The Tigers also shot 37.5% from three-point range (6-16). Tulane shot 41.7% from the floor, 70% from the line and 44% in threes. JSU held the edge in points in the paint (20-12), second chance scoring (15-6) and bench scoring (10-6). Tulane held the rebounding edge 33-29.
The score was tied six time and the game had eight lead changes. JSU returns to action Dec. 14 when the Tigers travel to Evansville, Indiana to take on Evansville. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
