JACKSON- The Jackson State University Lady Tigers soccer team fall 9-0 to the Ole Miss Lady Rebels in the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament on Friday, Nov. 15

Right at the start of the game, the Rebels tested the Lady Tigers defense gaining a corner kick in the first minute of the game which was saved by JSU goalie Taylor Emerson. The Rebels were able to rebound quickly and scored their first goal of the game at 2:16.

For the rest of the game, the Lady Tiger’s defense was no match for the top 30 nationally ranked offense and was unable to stop the goals. The Rebels made a total of nine goals. Bethany Bunker, Rafaelle Souza (3), Mandy McCalla, Olivia Harrison, Erin Emerson, Jessica Hickey, and Sydney Eddy were the scorers during the game.

“I really proud of my players,” said head coach Dean Joseph. “We had a great season and this was a very good experience for us.”

The Lady Tigers end their season 10-10-2 as the 2013 SWAC Champions
