JACKSON-The Lady Tiger of Jackson State University were unable to defeat the Lady Devils of Mississippi Valley State University in a game that ended in a tie on Sunday, Oct. 27.

In the first half, the Lady Tigers appeared to be overwhelmed by the Lady Devils defense. They were able to get close to the goal but were unable to land a shot.

The first goal of the game was scored by Shanesse Spratt of MVSU at 22:00. Five minutes later her team mate Bianca Vigliante was able to score the second goal for the Lady Devils.

In the second half of the game, the Lady Tigers seem to gain a new energy and at 55:11 Rayana Speight scored the Lady Tigers first goal with an assist from Elexis Rice. The final goal of the game was scored by Jalana Ellis of JSU at 59:42.

After regulation play, two over time periods were played but neither team was able to score.

“I think that the team played very well,” said head coach Dean Joseph. “The players took their chance and it put us back in the game.”
