Women’s Cross Country Take 6th at MC Choctaw Open

JACKSON- The Lady Tigers of Jackson State University women’s cross country team take home sixth place at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open College Women 5K on Saturday, Oct 19.

“Although we did not place where we wanted, I am proud of my ladies,” said head coach Pristina Jones. “All of them ran PR’s (personal best).”

Leading the Lady Tigers’ was junior Krissle Nicome who placed 12th and had a time of 20:07. Other Lady Tigers times are Sabrina Welch with a time of 20:57, Tyler Watson with 21:53, K’Diedra Massey with 22:29, Aniecia Brewster with 23:09, Majaica Brooks with 26:31, and Jasmyn Wilson-Willis with 32:21.

The Lady Tigers were outran by McNeese State University, Nicholls State University, New Orleans University, Alcorn State University, and  Grambling State University and conquered Southeastern Louisiana University.

The next meet that the Lady Tigers will run will be a big one for them. It will be the SWAC Championships and will take place on Monday, Oct 28 at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.
