JACKSON- The Lady Tigers of the Jackson State University bowling team placed ninth in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Invitational hosted by Tulane University on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Lady Tigers were 3-7 with a total of 7,913 points.
The Lady Tigers were led by freshman bowler Laura Uzzell who placed 38th overall with a total of 931 and an average of 186. Other Lady Tiger points are Alonna Tipton with a total of 919 and an average of 183.8, Brianna Reid with a total of 547 with an average of 182.3, Rashia Yero with a total of 871 and an average of 174.2, and Dyanna Scott with a total of 816 with a total of 163.2.
The Lady Tigers were outranked by Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Bethune-Cookman, Prairie View A&M, and Louisiana Tech. JSU was able to defeat Tulane and Florida A&M.
The Lady Tigers next competition will be the Alabama State Lady Hornet Classic and will take place on Friday, Nov 15 in Montgomery, Ala.
