JACKSON- Jackson State University men’s cross country team place third at the Martin Epps Invitational. The fell behind Grambling State University who placed first and Mississippi Valley State University who placed second.

This was the first year that JSU hosted the Martin Epps Invitational. The men’s teams ran an 8k. Nine teams competed, six of which were from SWAC schools.

Top runner for the Tigers was Samuel Rhoads who finished sixth at 28.4. Other team times were D’Ante Almo who finished tenth at 28.36, James Curtis 14th at 29.17, Jacques Williams 17th at29.25, Markus Jackson 22nd at 30.08, Rahim Aponte 24th at 30.27, and Alex Crawford 31st at 31.54.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Tigers will travel to Louisiana State University to compete in the LSU Invitational. It will start at 8a.m. at Highland Road Park.
