JACKSON- The Lady Tigers of Jackson State University soccer team fall 1-0 to Northwestern State University.

The first half the game was a no score but each team made some advancement. Johanna Sigvardsson of Northwestern shot at 18:24 but it was saved by Lady Tiger goalie Kylie Christian. At 18:56, Cassandra Briscoe of Northwestern shot but it too was saved by Kylie Christian.

At 25:42, Jalana Ellis of Jackson State shot and it was blocked. She followed with another shot at 25:14 that was wide. Shatiaunna Banks shot at 37:16 for Jackson State and it was saved by Jessica Danku goalie for Northwestern.

In the beginning of the second half, Rayana Speight of the Lady Tigers shot high. Nikki Saunders of Northwestern shot wide at 54:30. Taylor Mulnix of Northwerstern made the only goal of the game at 73:06 in the second half. Speight of Jackson State shot at 81:29 and it was saved by Danku.

Jackson State leaders for this game was Speight with 2 shots and 1 on goal, Ariana Gardner with 1 shot with  shot on goal, Jalana Ellis with 2 shots, and Shatiaunna Banks with 1 shot on goal.

The Lady Tigers next game will be on the road against the University of Southern Mississippi. This game will be on Fri, Sept. 13.
