JACKSON – The Jackson State softball team snapped a two game losing streak by beating the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes 8-0 at the JSU Softball Complex Friday evening.

With the win JSU increases its lead in the SWAC Eastern Division over MVSU. The Lady Tigers pounded out 12 hits en route to its eight runs. JSU also recorded six RBI. The JSU pitching staff allowed only four MVSU hits.

Breea Jamerson (15-17) pitched the complete game for the win. In six innings of work she allowed only four hits. Jasmine Warren and Lauren Aikens each recorded three hits for JSU. Canessa Swanson followed with two hits.

Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State return to action Saturday, April 20 for the final two games of the series. First pitch is set for 12 pm at the JSU SB Complex.
