JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State baseball team fell to a 10-11 record after dropping a mid-week, non-conference contest to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions Wednesday night at Braddy Field. JSU lost 7-4. Southeastern improved to a 15-7 record.
Alex Juday (0-1) suffered the loss for JSU. Kaleb Manuel (1-0) got the win for the Lions.
The Tigers finished the game with four runs on four hits and had four RBI. The Lions had seven runs on seven hits and six RBI. Bryce Taylor finished with a hit, run and RBI for JSU. Jameson Fisher led Southeastern with two hits and two runs.
Each team scored a run in the first inning and JSU took a 3-1 lead after putting up two runs in the third. SLU cut the lead to 4-2 with a run in the fourth and took a 4-3 lead after scoring two runs in the sixth. The Lions opened the seventh with three runs to make the score 7-3. JSU scored its last run at the bottom of the seventh to make final score 7-4.
JSU returns to action to face the Alcorn State Braves in a three-game, weekend series in Lorman, Miss. JSU and ASU will play a double-header Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
