COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Jackson State baseball team had its seven-game winning streak snapped after falling 9-3 to Missouri on Tuesday at Taylor Stadium. With the loss JSU falls to a 9-7 record and Missouri improved to 4-7.
Missouri jumped out to an early lead, putting seven runs on the scoreboard in the second inning. The Tigers scored their first run in the third when Jose Cruz scored on a wild pitch. Missouri added its final two runs at the bottom of the third.
JSU scored the final two runs in the ninth inning when Cruz and Stephen Curtis both scored.
Chris Wingard (0-2) suffered the loss for JSU. Curtis and Ethan Bright each recorded two hits for the Tigers.
JSU returns to action Wednesday, March 13 when the Tigers travel to Lawrence, Kansas for a 3 pm start time.
