JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State women's basketball team ended a two game skid by beating the Alabama State Lady Hornets 70-67 in Southwestern Athletic Conference action Thursday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.

With the win JSU improves to an 11-15, 8-9 record. Alabama State falls to 9-19, 7-10.

Beatrice Banks led JSU with 14 points on 5-8 shooting from three-point range. Ayanna Hardy Fuller followed with 11 points and three rebounds. Ekwara Ndongo came off the bench to score nine points. Demara Howard and Tiffany Kellum each added eight points for JSU. Kellum also pulled down a team high nine rebounds.

Nakiya Smith led ASU with a 23 point effort, going 10-21 from the field.

JSU held the Lady Hornets to 31.4% shooting from the field, while shooting 42.6% from the floor. JSU connected at a 66.7% rate from three-point range.

Jackson State returns to action Saturday, Mar. 2 when the Lady Tigers host Grambling State for the regular season finale at the Lee E. Williams AAC.
