Lady Tigers fall to Lamar 3-2

MOBILE, AL - The Jackson State softball team lost its first game of the Mardi Gras Invitational, hosted by the University of South Alabama. The Lady Tigers fell 3-2 to Lamar at Jaguar Field.

With the loss JSU falls to a 1-6 record and Lamar improves to 3-2.

Lamar scored the first runs of the game, putting two on the scoreboard in the third inning. Lamar scored another run in the sixth inning. JSU rallied in the sixth inning, scoring two runs.

Jasmine Warren led JSU's offensive effort with two hits and a run scored. Lauren Aikens recorded a hit and two RBI.

Breea Jamerson suffered the loss for JSU. In six innings of work she allowed three runs on four hits.

JSU returns to action Saturday, Feb. 16 to take on Central Arkansas at 11 am and Lamar at 1:15 pm on day two of the Mardi Gras Invitational.
