HATTIESBURG, MS - The Jackson State women's tennis team (0-2) fell 8-1 to William Carey at Tatum Park Saturday afternoon. The Lady Tigers were swept in double action and picked up a win in singles action.

The score was definitely deceiving as many matches could have gone the other way.  Doubles tandem Kesica Jayalapan and Harshini Reddy were leading late in the match and came up short 8-6.  Karen Martinez defeated All-American and No.26 ranked Maja Vuzem 6-4,6-3.  Reddy was points away from defeating All-American and #19 ranked Carola Oma 2-6, 6-3, 10-7.  Jayalapan's game went cold after leading 5-0 in the second set and fell 6-3, 7-5.  Laura Rojas also lost a close match 4-6, 6-2, 10-4.  The Lady Tigers season resumes next Friday.
