Tigers drop two in season opener at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL - The Jackson State men's tennis team opened the 2013 season with a dual-match against the Alabama and Alabama State at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. The Tigers opened the season with a 0-2 record falling to the Crimson Tide and Hornets.

The Tigers fell 7-0 to Alabama. The Tigers were not able to pick up a win in either doubles or singles play against the Crimson Tide.

In the second match of the day, JSU fell 5-2 to ASU. The Tiger picked up wins in singles action as Camilo Patino beat Alexis Pier 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 and Carlos Martinez beat Jerred Thompson 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.

Jackson State will return to action Saturday, Jan. 26 when the Tiger travel to Hattiesburg, MS to take on William Carey.
